Kashmir

Kashmir is a beautiful region located in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent. Known for its breathtaking landscapes, snow-capped mountains, lush green valleys, and serene lakes, it is often referred to as "Paradise on Earth." The region is home to a rich cultural heritage, influenced by Hindu, Buddhist, and Islamic traditions. Kashmir is divided among three countries: India, Pakistan, and China, with the Indian-administered part comprising Jammu, Kashmir Valley, and Ladakh (though Ladakh is now a separate union territory). The Kashmir Valley, in particular, is famous for its natural beauty and cultural significance.   Tourism, handicrafts (like Pashmina shawls and Kashmiri carpets), and agriculture (especially apple orchards and saffron cultivation) are key aspects of the region’s economy. Despite its stunning beauty, the region has experienced political and military conflict, making peace and development an ongoing concern.
